TerraSan Investments : Mariculture
Mariculture is the cultivation of marine organisms for food, either in their "natural environment", or in seawater in ponds or raceways. By definition, mariculture is a specialized branch of aquaculture.
Mariculture in this instance includes the associated industries such as feed manufacture, processing and canning.
Investment Strategy
| (a) | To produce farmed marciculture products of the highest standards and quality for export and local markets. |
| (b) | To establish a mariculture division of TerraSan, in the form of a holding company, to bring all its interests in this field together and to develop new projects based on the experience and expertise in the division. |
| (c) | Investigate new species for cultivation in land based holding systems. |
| (d) | Research on the use of tried and tested exotic species. |
| (e) | Research on using recruits from the natural resources to use in mariculture. |
| (f) | Assisting other Abalone farms to set up hatcheries and improve the grow-out technologies. |
| (g) | Form a marketing company to market all species of mariculture for ourselves and other companies. |
